Maulana Fazlur Rehman Warns of Worsening Crisis in KP and Balochistan

Islamabad: Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam (JUI) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has expressed grave concerns over the deteriorating law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, stating that the government has "completely lost its writ" in these regions. Speaking to media on Wednesday, he highlighted that residents have been forced to migrate for the past two decades due to loss of livelihoods.

The Maulana emphasized that the prolonged unrest in these areas poses significant geographical and strategic challenges. “We are sitting on scorched soil. All stakeholders must come together to find a solution before it is too late,” he urged.

He also criticized Punjab and other regions for failing to grasp the seriousness of the situation, warning that the lack of attention could lead to geographical shifts and external interference, especially given the natural wealth of these regions in terms of precious minerals and resources.

During the Ongoing conflict in the Tribal districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, the local populations have suffered immensely, both economically and in terms of human loss, due to prolonged military operations and terrorism. Despite these efforts, terrorism continues to persist, eroding public confidence in military strategies.

The locals have lost trust in military operations and no longer support such actions. Instead, protests, jirgas, anti operation rallies, peace rallies and gatherings are being organized daily to voice opposition against war and military campaigns in these areas.

In recent times, political and local leaders have repeatedly raised concerns about the effectiveness of military operations, reflecting the growing discontent among the affected populations.

The Maulana concluded by warning that neglecting these war-torn regions risks inviting further instability and external intervention, jeopardizing the country's unity and sovereignty.
